LA Pride 2022 Returns to Hollywood, Los Angeles

You read that right! After taking a few years off due to unforeseen circumstances, the LA Pride made a huge return from West Hollywood to Hollywood, where the first LGBTQ+ celebration was celebrated in the 1970s.

The purpose of the event was to commemorate the Stonewall Rebellion, which took place on Christopher Street in New York City. After more than half a century, CSW established a distinguished legacy as an outspoken advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Aside from the fact that they are best known for staging the Los Angeles Pride Parade and Festival, CSW also works with various charities and business partners in enhancing equality and inclusion in the world.

IPS provided security for the whole three-day event. The event kicked off with a concert called the LA Pride in the Park at the LA State Historic Park. The lineup featured artists like Christina Aguilera, Anitta, Syd, Chika, Michaela Jaé, and Rebecca Black.

On June 12, the Los Angeles Pride March took place in Hollywood, at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. A lot of the attendees thought the venue was appropriate, especially since they are celebrating the 52nd anniversary of the first permitted gay parade in the world.

While there was a spike in the number of attendees compared to the last three years, all of the attendees were very sentimental about the venue.

The event organizers initially sought volunteers for the celebration. While there were community ambassadors tasked to watch over the information booth, and lost and found section, we commend event organizers for not taking security lightly. IPS was hired to work with these ambassadors and the harmony was outstanding!

Our deployed teams monitored and assisted the flow of the march, helped in maintaining route clearance, and served as the backbone of crowd management. There were no problems in terms of numbers and our supervisors did well in making sure that nobody is heavily involved in their respective posts.
