Napa Valley’s annual BottleRock festival made a triumphant return to the region on Memorial Day weekend, bringing top-tier touring artists, luxurious spa services, delectable food and drink, and even more to its regular place.
Around 120,000 people were estimated to have attended the festival over the holiday weekend, making it one of the most popular music festivals on the West Coast alongside the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco and the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Southern California.
Metallica, Pink, Twenty-One Pilots, Pitbull, Luke Combs, and the West Coast rap supergroup Mount Westmore headlined the festival’s main stage, which also featured performances by Grammy-winning singer Pink, Bay Area heavy metal legends Metallica, and local favorites E-40 and Too Short from the Bay Area.
It was estimated that the sold-out event drew as many as 40,000 music fans per day to the Napa Valley Expo from Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29 due to pandemic delays that pushed the three-day festival to Labor Day weekend last year, giving organizers less than a year to get ready for its 2022 edition.
In addition to BottleRock’s long-standing Culinary and Wine Gardens and Spa, the Garden, dubbed “a cannabis-inspired lounge,” debuted this year as an in-festival venue. A co-founder of Immersia Live, which produced the Garden for the festival, said, “It was created as an educational and experience area.”
Our IPS staff carried out the task of demanding proof of age before allowing anyone under the age of 21 admissions into the area, which was dotted with kiosks selling everything from picture booths to T-shirts and cocktails to extracts and aerosol cans.
Overall, the event went well and there was a lot of good feedback from the attendees.
