On June 22, PayPal Park in San Jose hosted an international friendly match between Mexico’s Club America and Club Leon. This is the second time these two clubs have met at PayPal Park since 2021.

Club America is well-known to be the most successful club in Mexico. It has won a total of 34 trophies including a record 13 Liga MX crowns, six Campeon de Campeones championships, and six Copa MX championships. Club America has also been successful in international events, winning a total of eight Concacaf Champions League crowns and two Copa Interamericana championships.
